Monroe Central is 7-2 against Blue River Valley since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Monroe Central Golden Bears will head out on the road to challenge the Blue River Valley Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Monroe Central is looking to tack on another W to their eight-game streak on the road.
On Tuesday, Monroe Central came up short against Delta and fell 54-46.
Meanwhile, Blue River Valley unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 61-39 walloping at the hands of Northeastern. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Blue River Valley has suffered against Northeastern since January 15, 2015.
Despite the defeat, Blue River Valley got a solid performance out of Maciah Driskill, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Driskill is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlee Gibson, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Monroe Central's loss dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Blue River Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.
Monroe Central didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Blue River Valley when the teams last played back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 50-46 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Blue River Valley's Maci Chamberlin, who scored 36 points.
