Balboa has gone 8-1 against Lincoln recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Buccaneers will challenge the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m.
Balboa came up short against Washington back in March, falling 22-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Buccaneers have suffered against the Eagles since March 16, 2017.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lincoln). They blew past Mission 18-1 on Tuesday. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Ella Wolters made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Wolters was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That hit was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Lincoln let Brienna Tsui and Mina Reyes run wild. Tsui went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Reyes went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases Tsui has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Liang, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Lincoln always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .692. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Lincoln's record is now 2-5. As for Balboa, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Balboa got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2025 against Lincoln by a conclusive 11-2 score. Will the Buccaneers repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
