It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Murrieta Mesa Rams had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by Laguna Hills at home to the tune of 45-14. The win was familiar territory for Murrieta Mesa who now have three in a row.
Murrieta Mesa can attribute much of their success to C J Moran, who rushed for 95 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries. Another player making a difference was Artyon Celestine, who rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Although Laguna Hills took the loss, they still got scores from John Ponce and Ryan Mckevitt.
Murrieta Mesa is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season. As for Laguna Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 9-2.
Murrieta Mesa will head out on the road to face off against La Habra at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. La Habra knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Murrieta Mesa likes a good challenge. Laguna Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
