Last Tuesday, Rawlins County was able to grind out a solid win over Pawnee Heights, taking the game 48-37. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Rawlins County.
Rawlins County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brayan Rodriguez led the charge by scoring 21 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Rodriguez has scored at least 25% of Rawlins County's points. Another player making a difference was Braxton Dixson, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Dighton took their contest on the road on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 70-17 win over Central Christian Academy. With Dighton ahead 40-11 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Among those leading the charge was Daniel Cramer, who scored 20 points along with 9 assists. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Dighton's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Shimer, who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 assists.
The opposite results left the teams with opposite records: Rawlins County's win pushed their record up to 2-0, while Pawnee Heights' defeat dropped theirs down to 0-2.
Rawlins County came up short against Dighton in their previous matchup back in February, falling 55-46. Can Rawlins County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
