Softball Recap: South Point Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

South Point waltzed into their match on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Ashbrook Greenwave 17-1. The Red Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by eight runs or more this season.

Reagan Mizell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Mizell was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, South Point got a massive performance out of Cailey Evans, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases Evans has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Madison Bridges, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-1.

South Point always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .792. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

South Point's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Ashbrook, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: South Point beat Ashbrook by a score of 17-1 later that day.
