A feisty cat fight will be fought as Klein Collins Tigers take on Klein Oak Panthers at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Klein Collins has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with three straight defeats, while Klein Oak will come in with five straight wins.
Tuesday just wasn't the day for Klein Collins' offense. They came up short against Klein on Tuesday, falling 7-0.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Klein Oak). They never let Klein Forest get on the board and left with a 23-0 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Panthers have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Aubrey Lacour was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in February. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in February.
In other pitching news, Riannah Boulanger looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up a single earned run in eight consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Makenzie Berkman was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelyn Havemann, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Klein Oak kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Klein Oak pushed their record up to 14-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Klein Collins, their loss dropped their record down to 2-17.
