Prairie Central has been on the road for two straight, but on Saturday they'll finally head home. They will take on The Montini Catholic Broncos at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Saturday, Prairie Central took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 48-6 victory over North Lawndale. With Prairie Central ahead 27-6 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Hudson Ault was his usual excellent self, rushing for 200 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per carry. Ault hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for four straight games.
Another reason for the win was Prairie Central's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. North Lawndale's QB won't forget Jacob Vega anytime soon given Vega sacked him four times.
Montini Catholic fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They breezed by Eureka at home to the tune of 48-6. Given Montini Catholic's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 48th, while Eureka is ranked 240th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Their wins bumped Prairie Central to 6-4 and Montini Catholic to 7-3.
