It was a good run, but the Oak Hills Highlanders unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 32-26 loss to they. They were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Fairfield apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

It was another big night for Myka Richardson, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds for Fairfield. Richardson hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Hayes, who scored eight points.

Oak Hills will head out on the road to challenge Middletown at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Middletown will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 396th, while Oak Hills is ranked 183rd). As for Fairfield, they will be playing at home against Mount Notre Dame at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Averaging 55.8 so far this season, Mount Notre Dame's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Fairfield better be ready for a challenge.
