With a playoff game on the line, the Belmont Sentinels rose to the challenge on Friday. They put the hurt on the Stallions with a sharp 53-28 victory. The win was some much needed relief for Belmont as it spelled an end to their 12-game losing streak.
Belmont's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordan Martin, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Martin pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Daryl Bing, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Belmont's win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-19. As for Animo Bunche, their loss was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-15.
Belmont will take on Horace Mann UCLA Community at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Belmont focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 32 on Friday. Animo Bunche does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
