It was a good run, but the St. Joseph Central Irish unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They lost to Bishop Brossart at home by a decisive 63-48 margin.
Ava Gallion and Sophie Ransbottom certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Gallion scored 26 points, while Ransbottom scored 13 points along with five rebounds. Gallion scored a full 54.2% of St. Joseph Central's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
St. Joseph Central's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-4. As for Bishop Brossart, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.
St. Joseph Central will square off against Rock Hill at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Bishop Brossart, they will head out on the road to face off against Roger Bacon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Roger Bacon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Saturday.
