Yorkville has gone 9-1 against Oswego East recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Foxes will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wolves at 4:30 p.m. Yorkville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Yorkville didn't have quite enough to beat Minooka and fell 8-6. The Foxes have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
Yorkville got a good showing from Isabella Rosauer, who pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest earned runs Rosauer has allowed since back in March.
At the plate, Callie Ferko led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. Jo Pavlak was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Oswego East, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Everything went their way against Bolingbrook on Monday as they made off with a 14-3 win. The victory continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won six in a row.
Sophia Anderson spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Lundin Cornelius was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Silva, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Yorkville's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Oswego East, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.
Yorkville skirted past Oswego East 5-4 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Foxes repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
