Baseball Game Preview: Benjamin Buccaneers vs. Saint Andrew's Scots

Benjamin is 9-1 against Saint Andrew since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Benjamin will venture away from home to square off against Saint Andrew's at 4:00 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Benjamin came up short against Montverde Academy and fell 5-2. The Buccaneers have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Brandon Owens made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Saint Andrew's made sure to put some runs up on the board against Palm Beach Gardens on Saturday. Saint Andrew's blew past Palm Beach Gardens 10-1. The result was nothing new for the Scots, who have now won six contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Chase Lambalot tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Connor Berman was excellent, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Spina, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI.

Saint Andrew's always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palm Beach Gardens only posted an OBP of .280.

Benjamin's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Saint Andrew's, their record is now 13-4.

Benjamin was able to grind out a solid win over Saint Andrew's in their previous matchup back in February, winning 5-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Benjamin since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
