Softball Recap: Falkner Has No Trouble Against Ashland

Falkner's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Ashland Blue Devils with a sharp 18-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won four in a row.

The team relied heavily on Mallie Mitchell, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, five RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mia McDaniel, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Mitchell wasn't the only one making solid contact: Falkner kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.

Falkner's victory bumped their record up to 5-12. As for Ashland, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Falkner wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 18-6 loss against Biggersville on the 29th. As for Ashland, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 1-0 win against Byers on the 1st.
