The Patriot Pioneers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 79-42 loss at the hands of Woodgrove. Patriot was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-19.
When it comes to explaining why Patriot lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ella Negron. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Negron scored a full 40.5% of Patriot's points, the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Patriot has fallen quite a ways from their 17-8 record last season and are now at 4-7. As for Woodgrove, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Patriot will be playing in front of their home fans against Battlefield at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Woodgrove's road trip will continue as they head out to face Briar Woods at 7:15 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
