East Duplin was sadly handed a loss on Friday, but Kyle Kern did his best to prevent it. Kern wasn't messing around, striking out nine batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. The pitching appearance was his fourth straight with five or more strikeouts.
