After flying high against Burgettstown last Wednesday, West Greene came back down to earth. The West Greene Pioneers took a 55-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fort Cherry Rangers on Friday.
West Greene lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Parker Burns, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 16 points and six rebounds. Burns continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lane Allison, who posted 11 points.
West Greene dropped their record down to 6-6 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Fort Cherry, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-6.
West Greene will be playing in front of their home fans against Bethlehem Center at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fort Cherry, they will venture away from home to face off against Chartiers-Houston at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th.
