Lutheran South Academy faced Second Baptist in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Pioneers put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 11-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Pioneers, who have now won 18 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Lutheran South Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 19 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-2-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Second Baptist, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 18-2.
