Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Rocky River

Rocky River waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Strongsville Mustangs by a score of 8-4.

Reagan Kane was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs and six RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Carly Ewing was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Abbie Lamb was another key player, earning two runs and two stolen bases.

Rocky River lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Rocky River's record now sits at 10-5. As for Strongsville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Rocky River will be playing in front of their home fans against Olmsted Falls at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Strongsville, they will venture away from home to square off against Jackson at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Polar Bears' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
