Volleyball Recap: Brandeis' Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Franklin came into Saturday's game looking for another win against Brandeis, but Adalin Gutierrez wouldn't allow it. The Broncos came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cougars on Saturday, sneaking past 2-1 with plenty of help from Gutierrez, who had 19 digs. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Brandeis who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 22-25, 25-20.

Brandeis moved to 6-10 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Franklin, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-9.

Brandeis' road trip will continue as they head out to face Rouse at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Franklin, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Del Valle at 6:30 p.m. on September 2.
