Franklin came into Saturday's matchup looking for another win against Brandeis, but Adalin Gutierrez wouldn't allow it. The Broncos had just enough and edged out the Cougars 2-1 for which the team can thank Gutierrez, who had 19 digs. She has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last five times she's played.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Brandeis who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-20, 22-25, 25-20.

Brandeis moved to 6-10 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Franklin, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.

Brandeis has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Rouse on the 23rd. As for Franklin, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Fort Bend Austin on the 23rd.
