Hobart came out on top against Kankakee Valley on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Brickies took their game against the Kougars 6-3. The win continues a trend for the Brickies in their matchups with the Kougars: they've now won seven in a row.
Hobart's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Aidan Leonard, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Leonard has posted since April 5th. Julian Alvarez also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Boone Grove had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Hawks with a sharp 12-3 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Wolves have posted against the Hawks since April 23, 2021.
Andrew Batesole made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Batesole was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Davian Carrera, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Tristan Wilson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
