DeSoto extended the longest winning streak in MAIS A District 1 this week by beating West Memphis Christian, 45-12. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Thunderbirds.
Tunica Academy took down Strider Academy 48-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Thanks to the talents of Russ Fitzgerald and David Lewis the Black Knights have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Fitzgerald leads the league in passing with 538 yards, while Lewis has rushed for 612 yards this season. Bayou Academy's Caleb Pilgrim leads the league in receiving yards with 233 on seven catches.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Deer Creek takes on DeSoto. The Warriors have allowed 110 points this season, while the Thunderbirds have given up 89.
The Blue Devils led the league in scoring this week after putting up 48 points on the Rams.
