The biggest upset of the week belonged to Woodhaven, who took down 247th ranked Woodhaven, 20-0.
Melvindale was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in Downriver. The Cardinals beat Kennedy 54-0 earlier in the week.
Roosevelt's dynamic duo of Donovan Stewart and Brandon Sowards proved tough for Lincoln Park to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Stewart threw for 72 yards and 2 touchdowns and Sowards had 122 yards receiving. Donnie Corley helped Roosevelt's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 39 yards.
The Bears' dynamic duo of Stewart and Sowards proved to be unstoppable against the Railsplitters, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Christian Mercure provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Trenton fell to Allen Park. He completed 9 passes for 81 yards and also ran for 119 yards. Mercure's key target this week was Brady Tanguay, who caught 2 passes for 21 yards.
Mercure was the most successful running back in the league this week. Connor Cunningham also contributed to the rushing game with 29 yards on the ground.
Sowards was the best wideout in the league this week as Roosevelt bested Lincoln Park.
Stewart put up the best numbers through the air as Ron Adams' team bested the Railsplitters.
The Bears' Stewart and Sowards have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Downriver in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Stewart has thrown for 223 yards this season, while Sowards has 8 catches for 207 yards. Mercure from the Trojans leads the league in rushing with 260 yards.
One of the league's premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when Roosevelt and Carlson face off next week.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Anderson takes on Truman. The Titans are in fourth place, while the Cougars are in first place.
Anderson moved up to 252 from 349 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. David Pratt's team was able to make move up by defeating the Warriors 20-0.
