Crystal Springs pushed their score all the way to 61 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 70-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Brookhaven. While losing is never fun, Crystal Springs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 149th, while Brookhaven is ranked 32nd).
Meanwhile, Yazoo County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They were beaten by Canton 69-28. Yazoo County has not had much luck with Canton recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Crystal Springs' loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Yazoo County, they bumped their record down to 1-11 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.
Crystal Springs couldn't quite finish off Yazoo County in their previous matchup back in January of 2021 and fell 56-54.
