Angola had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt West Noble on Thursday. The Hornets put the hurt on the Chargers with a sharp 10-2 win. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Chargers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Landen Bussard was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season.

In other batting news, Angola let Korbin Roan and Myles Steury run wild. Roan went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base, while Steury went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. That's the most hits Steury has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Ritter, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Angola kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 9.2.

Angola's record is now 4-11. As for West Noble, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

Angola wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 8-2 loss against Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran on the 9th. As for West Noble, they have also already played their next matchup, a 7-4 defeat against Eastside on the 15th.
