The Jefferson Academy Jaguars lost against the Stargate School Eagles back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Jefferson Academy fell 51-38 to Stargate School. It was the first time this season that Jefferson Academy let down their fans at home.
Jefferson Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jimeto Orji, who scored nine points along with six rebounds, and Josh Neely who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Jefferson Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Jefferson Academy's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4. As for Stargate School, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jefferson Academy will face off against Kent Denver at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Kent Denver knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 matches -- so hopefully Jefferson Academy likes a good challenge. As for Stargate School, they will head out on the road to challenge The Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
