After flying high against Panorama  last Friday, Sylmar came back down to earth. The Sylmar Spartans took  a  74-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Van Nuys Wolves on Monday. The Spartans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wolves earlier this season, when they won  70-58.

 Despite the loss, Sylmar still got an impressive performance from   Tim Tanner, who  went 10-for-20  en route to 27 points and seven  rebounds. The dominant performance gave  Tanner a new career-high in  boards. The team also got some help courtesy of  Keawe Kalama, who  posted ten  points and eight  rebounds.
 Van Nuys' win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Jeremy Rivas, who  put up 21 points and three  steals. Rivas has become a key player for Van Nuys: the team is 3-1 when he posts  at  least  15  points, but 3-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was  Steven Tu, who  earned 20 points along with eight  boards and three  steals.
Sylmar has  been struggling recently as they've  lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record  this season. Van Nuys has  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-8 record  this season.
 Sylmar wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  matchup,  a  115-53  loss against Chatsworth on the 12th. As for Van Nuys, they have also  already played their next contest,  a  54-53  victory against Canoga Park on the 12th.
