The Swanton Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Bryan Golden Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Swanton is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
On Monday, Swanton didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Pettisville, but they still walked away with a 46-40 victory.
Swanton can attribute much of their success to Peighton Manning, who scored 17 points. Manning is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Olivia Gowing, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Bryan came tearing into Saturday's contest with 11 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against Archbold as Bryan made off with a 55-34 win. Bryan has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Swanton's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-13. As for Bryan, their victory bumped their record up to 18-1.
Swanton was taken down by Bryan 58-26 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Swanton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
