Beardstown had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They came out on top against the Camp Point Central Panthers by a score of 5-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-3 back in March.

Trey Riddell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

Beardstown's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Camp Point Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Coincidentally, Beardstown and Camp Point Central will both be playing Olympia the next time they take the field. The Panthers will head out to face the Spartans at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Tigers will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
