The Raleigh HomeSchool Hawks suffered their closest loss yet this season on Thursday. They fell just short of Wake County Academy HomeSchool by a score of 48-45. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Raleigh HomeSchool of the 51-38 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2023.
Wake County Academy HomeSchool was led to victory by Steph Murray and Reg Sanders. Murray dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds, while Sanders scored 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Murray has scored all season. Ian Maina was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Raleigh HomeSchool dropped their record down to 1-8 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Wake County Academy HomeSchool, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Raleigh HomeSchool will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cary Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Wake County Academy HomeSchool's road trip will continue as they head out to face Berean Baptist Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Josiah Sanders and Zai Black.
