Reante Byrd Delivers Best Effort of Season
On Friday, Hephzibah had to settle for second even though Reante Byrd put up the best numbers he has all season. Byrd rushed for 204 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.3 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an incredible 78 yards.
Hephzibah is on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6. Byrd and Hephzibah will venture away from home to challenge Academy of Richmond County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

West Laurens found a leader in Ty Cummings as the team took down Hephzibah on Friday. Nobody could stop Cummings as he rushed for 181 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run.
The win made it two in a row for West Laurens and bumps their season record up to 6-1. Cummings and West Laurens will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Westside at 6:00 p.m. on October 31st.

Keeping Cummings company is Shannon Adkins, a fellow West Laurens player. He rushed for 26 yards and three touchdowns.
