Sparta Academy and Jackson Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Sparta Academy Warriors will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Jackson Academy Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Sparta Academy suffered their biggest loss since December 7, 2023 on Monday. They were dealt a 59-31 loss at the hands of Patrician Academy. Sparta Academy has struggled against Patrician Academy recently, as their contest on Monday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Brodie Fowler, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Sam Cook, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Jackson Academy, who are still winless after their fourth match. They took a 37-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sparta Academy on Friday.
Sparta Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Jackson Academy, they bumped their record down to 0-4 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Sparta Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Jackson Academy when the teams last played on Friday, winning 37-27. Will Sparta Academy repeat their success, or does Jackson Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
