Volleyball Recap: Cherryville Starts Season with Win at Home

Cherryville took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy Gryphons. The Ironmen haven't had any issues with the Gryphons recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-21, 25-5.

Cherryville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Taylor Hudson, who had six aces. Those six aces gave Hudson a new career-high.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cherryville is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will face off against North Gaston at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy, they will square off against Piedmont Community Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Gryphons' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
