The Bessemer Academy Rebels stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 77-48 victory over Morgan Academy. The victory was nothing new for Bessemer Academy as they're now sitting on nine straight.
Leading Bessemer Academy to victory were JJ Jeter and Joshua Thompson. Jeter scored 17 points along with four steals, while Thompson scored 12 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Jeter is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games he's played. Another player making a difference was Johnathan Winston, who scored 12 points along with two steals and two blocks.
Several Senators players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was CJ Christopher Williams, who scored 17 points along with three steals. Barron Frazer was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Bessemer Academy pushed their record up to 19-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Morgan Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.
Bessemer Academy will be playing at home against the Volunteers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Monroe Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Morgan Academy, they will face off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
