Football Recap: South Allegheny Piles Up the Points Against South Park

South Allegheny strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the South Park Eagles 56-7. The Gladiators pushed the score to 42-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles had no chance of recovering from.

It was another big night for Joey Gamret, who rushed for 139 yards and four TDs. Those four rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Cook, who gained 72 total yards and three touchdowns.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for South Allegheny, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Cook, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

South Allegheny's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for South Park, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Allegheny will take on Ligonier Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Gladiators will be up against the Rams' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for South Park, they will be playing at home against Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Prexies have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
