The Chariho Chargers will be home for the holidays to greet the Cumberland Clippers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chariho will be strutting in after a win while Cumberland will be coming in after a loss.
Chariho had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They claimed a resounding 59-13 win over Woonsocket on the road.
Chariho had a senior duo take command as Keira Frias scored 19 points along with five rebounds and Emily Ballard scored 13 points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Megan Ballard, who scored five points.
Meanwhile, Cumberland came up short against Mount St. Charles Academy on Wednesday and fell 46-33. Cumberland has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Chariho's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Cumberland, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Chariho was able to grind out a solid victory over Cumberland in their previous matchup back in February, winning 45-33. Does Chariho have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cumberland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
