The Leuzinger Olympians posted their biggest victory yet this season on Saturday. They blew past Blair 84-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Leuzinger got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Malachi Knight out in front who scored 34 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Knight has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Joshua Garland, who scored 23 points.
When it comes to explaining why Blair lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nazsir Cammon. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and 0 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Timmy Anderson, who scored 12 points along with five assists.
Leuzinger is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Blair, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-8.
Leuzinger and King/Drew will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (King/Drew is ranked 242nd, while Leuzinger is ranked 231st). As for Blair, they will take on Mary Star of the Sea at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Mary Star of the Sea is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.
