Softball Recap: Fife Has No Trouble Against Eatonville

Fife made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Eatonville, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 21-1 margin over the Cruisers on Tuesday. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by eight runs or more this season.

Mallory Geving made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Geving was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other pitching news, Frankie Wolfrom looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Fife let Sophia Payne and Mallory Robson run wild. Payne scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Robson went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Robson launched this season. Another player making a difference was Ashlynn Monroe, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Fife always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Fife has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 14 runs. As for Eatonville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Fife will take on rival Franklin Pierce at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Eatonville is set to face off against their familiar foe Steilacoom at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
