Hickory Hawks took the game and then some with a 54-6 win over Gladiator Sports Academy. Hickory Hawks were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Hickory Hawks's victory lifted them to 1-2 while Providence Day's defeat dropped them down to 0-3. In their victory, Hickory Hawks relied heavily on senior Tony Parks, who rushed for 140 yards and 3 touchdowns; a key strategy for Providence Day will lie in finding a way to minimize his impact.
