The Crestline Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 45-30 bruising from Ridgemont. Crestline found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post nine fewer assists than your opponent.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jocelyn Noblit, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jacelynn Miller, who scored four points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
Ridgemont found their leader in underclassman Laney Elsasser, who scored eight points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that Elsasser posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Ruth Eckstein, who scored six points along with 13 rebounds.
Crestline's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Ridgemont, their win ended a 14-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crestline won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lucas at 6:00 p.m. on January 10th. Lucas comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Ridgemont, they will head out on the road to take on Vanlue at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Vanlue focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Thursday.
