The Friendship Christian Falcons won the last time they faced the St. Thomas More Academy Chancellors, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Friendship Christian came out on top against St. Thomas More Academy by a score of 46-37.
Eugene Amadi was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Hunter Peed, who scored 11 points.
St. Thomas More Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joseph De Guzman, who scored 17 points along with four steals. De Guzman hasn't dropped below 15 points for 11 straight games. Dominic Mack was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 11 rebounds and two blocks.
Friendship Christian's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 10-6. As for St. Thomas More Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-9.
Friendship Christian will head out on the road to square off against Thales Academy Rolesville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Thales Academy Rolesville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday. As for St. Thomas More Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Thales Academy Apex at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
