Basketball Recap: Kosciusko's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Kosciusko posted their closest victory since December 29, 2023 on Thursday. It was close, but they ultimately received the gift of a 60-57 win from a begrudging Whippets squad. Winning may never get old, but they sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Kosciusko's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cory Guyton Jr, who went 8 for 17 on his way to 19 points in addition to five assists and five steals. That's the most steals Guyton Jr has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Cole, who posted 14 points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

Kosciusko smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in six consecutive matches.

Kosciusko has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points per game. As for Leflore County, they moved to 10-4 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Kosciusko didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-59 win against Greenwood on the 20th. As for Leflore County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 69-56 victory against Simmons on the 20th.
