Mercyhurst Prep is  a perfect 3-0 against Iroquois since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Lakers will venture away from home to  square off against the Braves  at 4:30  p.m. Mercyhurst Prep is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2  runs per game  this season.
On Friday, Mercyhurst Prep didn't have quite enough to beat Freedom Christian Academy and fell  5-4. The  contest marked the Lakers' lowest-scoring  game so far this season.

 Bryce Schueth was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  struck out eight batters over  five innings while giving up  four earned runs off   three  hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  Zack Kruszewski was cooking despite his team's loss,   going 2-for-3 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  double. Another player making a difference was  Alex Manendo, who  went 1-for-2 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  RBI.
Meanwhile, Iroquois was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Wednesday as the team picked up their 14th straight  loss  dating back to last season. They were two  runs away from ending the streak, but they lost  a   3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Youngsville. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  defeat the Braves have suffered  since May 14, 2024.
 Iroquois saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Brian Rice, who  went 2-for-3 with one  stolen base and one  run. That  stolen base marked the first that  Rice has  snagged this season.
 Having lost for the first time  this season, Mercyhurst Prep  fell to 11-1. As for Iroquois, their record now sits at 0-10.
Iroquois' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them:  Mercyhurst Prep has hit smart this season,  having  averaged  an OBP of .504. It's a different story for Iroquois, though, as  they've  only  averaged .327. Will they be able to contain Mercyhurst Prep's hitters?
 Mercyhurst Prep took their  victory against Iroquois  in their previous meeting  back in May of 2018 by a conclusive  16-0 score. Do  the Lakers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Braves turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
