After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cherokee Trail, the Heritage Eagles were happy to have found some success on Friday. They blew past Smoky Hill 52-3 at home. That's another feather in the cap for Heritage, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Heritage to victory, but perhaps none more so than Skylar Peterson, who scored 11 points. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for her. Clementine Sapp was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Heritage's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Smoky Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
Heritage will head out on the road to face off against Brighton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Brighton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Saturday. Smoky Hill will be home for the holidays to greet Rangeview at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
