The Morse Tigers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 48-29 fall against Mira Mesa. Morse lost against Mira Mesa in their previous head to head back in April of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 28-0 score last time.
Despite the loss, Morse still got an impressive performance from Jonah Holloway, who rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Superior Garror was another key contributor, rushing for 75 yards and a touchdown.
Tyson Line was his usual excellent self, throwing for 193 yards and three touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. Another big playmaker for Mira Mesa was Chris Brown, who returned a punt for a touchdown.
Morse's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Mira Mesa, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6.
Morse does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mira Mesa will head out on the road to face off against St. Augustine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Augustine presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mira Mesa in California (St. Augustine is ranked 79th, while Mira Mesa is ranked 256th).
