Wyomissing is a perfect 3-0 against Octorara Area since October of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Spartans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Braves at 1:30 p.m. Wyomissing's defense has only allowed 14.5 points per game this season, so Octorara Area's offense will have their work cut out for them.
Wyomissing had been on a five-game streak of scoring at least 31 points, but Twin Valley put an end to it on Saturday. The Spartans came up short against the Raiders, falling 28-6. The contest marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Octorara Area). Everything went their way against Northern Lebanon on Friday as they made off with a 56-31 win. The Braves haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Wyomissing better keep an eye on Mason Prokay. He was instrumental in Octorara Area's win, throwing for 166 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also punching in a pair of TDs on the ground. Those three passing touchdowns gave Prokay a new career-high.
Octorara Area was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 286 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 157 rushing yards in three consecutive matchups.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Octorara Area, adding 14 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Brayden Mastrippolito, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Having lost for the first time this season, Wyomissing fell to 7-1. As for Octorara Area, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
