McKenzie is 0-3 against Westview since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The McKenzie Rebels will head out on the road to face off against the Westview Chargers at 6:00 p.m.
McKenzie unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They suffered a rough 68-42 loss at the hands of Spring Garden.
Westview has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 22 points or more this season. They breezed by Fayette Ware on the road to the tune of 75-36. Given Westview's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while Fayette Ware is ranked 70th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kylee Alexander was her usual excellent self, scoring 25 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Westview's points. Alexis Evans was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Their wins bumped McKenzie to 4-1 and Spring Garden to 8-0.
McKenzie came up short against Westview in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 55-48. Thankfully for McKenzie, Jada Harrison (who scored 17 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
