George Washington Prep won the last time they faced Jordan and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Generals blew past the Bulldogs 24-5. Considering the Generals have won six matchups by more than 11 runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Aracely Gonzalez made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits. Those hits were her first of the season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, George Washington Prep let Holland Allen and Emily Varela run wild. Allen went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs, while Varela got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, two doubles, and one triple. Those four hits gave Allen a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zachery Garcia, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
