The Pine Hill Warriors won the last time they faced the Northwest Falcons, and things went their way on Thursday too. Pine Hill strolled past Northwest with points to spare, taking the game 54-36.
It was another big night for Virances Martinez, who scored 27 points along with five steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Pine Hill's points. Leilani Charley was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Pine Hill has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Northwest, they dropped their record down to 1-13 with that defeat, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
Pine Hill will take on Tse' Yi' Gai at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (Tse' Yi' Gai is ranked 75th, while Pine Hill is ranked 91st). As for Northwest, they will head out on the road to face off against Ramah at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
