Long Beach Poly may have come out ahead in their last game, but they shouldn't get too cocky given who is up next. On Friday, they take on Narbonne at Veterans Stadium at 7:00 PM. The MaxPreps rankings say the odds are against Long Beach Poly, but that can only make success all the sweeter.
Long Beach Poly made easy work of Dorsey last Friday and carried off a 37-8 win. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Long Beach Poly had established a 37-0 advantage.
Meanwhile, Narbonne and St. Louis -- ranked 23rd and 4th in the MaxPreps national rankings, respectively -- squared off last week in a high-profile match. Narbonne were given a punishing 7-47 loss at the hands of St. Louis. Narbonne were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-33.
Long Beach Poly's lifted them to 1-0 while Narbonne's defeat dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Long Beach Poly can add another positive mark to their record or if Narbonne can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Long Beach Poly's step.
